The Towson Parade has a rich history of more than 70 years. There have been only two years that there was no parade during World War II while our men were serving overseas. Our Committee is totally independent, we receive no funding from government or other agency. Each year we must raise the $30,000+ it costs to put the parade on the street. The Committee volunteers are quite diverse young and old, working and retired. They give freely of their time and talents throughout the year to ensure a successful parade. We have three members with more than 15 years of service. Each year the committee works to make sure that our parade is the best it can be with outstanding bands from many states and Canada; varied units that include local organizations, schools, scouts, businesses and neighborhoods. The Towson July 4 Parade Committee is happy to share with you information you may need to enter the parade or to join the 80,000+ spectators that line the parade route. Maryann Albaugh Chair Person |
| In 2007, the first annual Spotlight on a Community began a new tradition. Every year we will choose a Towson community to spotlight. The community will march as part of the Grand Marshal contingent. This new feature will allow us to remind everyone of Towsons rich history and give new neighbors a brief, fun history lesson. |
